Artisan Crafted Soap
These fine, artisan handcrafted soaps are made by us here at The Fox and Crow in small batches to ensure their quality. We carefully select our oils and recipes to be pampering to your skin and other senses as well! Handmade soaps retain their natural glycerin, a humectant which helps draw and maintain moisture in the skin. Most commercial soaps remove this naturally occurring glycerin for use in other items such as lotions and cremes.
Making soap does involve the use of lye, or sodium hydroxide, and you will see this ingredient listed on our soaps. However, in soap making the lye is all used up, in the scientific process called saponification which is how soap is created from the oils. We superfat our soaps, which means we plan on extra oil remaining after all of the lye has been used to make a safe, lye free bar of soap that is extra pampering to your skin. It will not leave your skin feeling oily.
